ROXANNE TANGO FUSION
A Dance Theater Experience of Passion, Desire and Tango.
Fort Myers, Florida — 2026
Three international artists come together in Fort Myers to tell a story of passion, desire, and freedom in an unforgettable experience of dance and theatre.
A new production is coming to Fort Myers that was born from the meeting of three artists from different countries, united by their mutual passion for dance, theatre, and music.
Diogenes Goncalves, Jony Longoni, and Raquel Muñoz bring their artistic experience together to present Roxanne Tango Fusion, a work of dance/theatre inspired by “El Tango de Roxanne” from Moulin Rouge (originally Roxanne, by The Police and La Tanguera by Mariano Mores).
Roxanne Tango Fusion takes a familiar, universal story of passion and obsession, transforming it into an original theatrical narrative.
The idea for the show was conceived after performing a theatrical tango number to the song “El Tango de Roxanne”. The performance revealed to its creators that there was a deeper story to tell. From that first encounter between music, dance, and theatre, the desire was born to transform the dance into a complete theatrical production. Now, this idea takes on new dimensions on the Fort Myers’ stage, bringing together dance, dramaturgy, live music, set design, costumes, and a visual language marked by tango, Latin Ballroom, and theatrical aesthetics.
Who is Roxanne?
Desire. Passion. Obsession. Freedom.
But you don't know her story yet.
She is desire.
She is passion.
She is temptation.
She is conflict.
She is freedom.
In a world of shadows, roses, chains, and forbidden desire, Roxanne Tango Fusion takes the audience on a journey where dance, theatre, and live music collide.
- Two men are drawn to the same mysterious woman;
- What begins as fascination becomes desire;
- Desire becomes obsession;
And obsession becomes a dangerous battle for control.
Through Argentine Tango, American Tango, American Rumba, Flamenco, and Contemporary Dance, Roxanne moves between passion and vulnerability, power and surrender.
But there is more to Roxanne than what the audience sees.
SOME LOVE NEVER DIES.
